Does anyone happen to have some pictures of the No2 Car from the 1971 Daytona race ? Preferably with the damaged front end
Cheers Sean

This is what you probably need to get a look at.. Not much help I know, but at little push into a direction at least. Probably hard to find too Covers '62 to 2003. Rich

Cheers Rich I followed the link to Daytona and found the car and that helps me out ;D , I'm currently building the Fujimi 71 Daytona car which had the front end all taped up with silver gaffer tape . But the Sebring one looks like a fun build maybe I'll get another one of these kits for that one Once again Thanks guys for your help

Very nice Sean, very realistic looking on the gaffa taped front and superb weathering. I bet, photographed in the right setting, it would be a real 'double take' job.

Cheers chaps Well as the old saying goes if you mess it up weather it ;D , the gaffa tape was made of Tammy tape sprayed with Vallejo gunmetal , as for the streaking well , OK the plan was to do the car after it was raced where they cleaned it all up and then resprayed the front end with the gaffer tape So after thinking about this I thought instead I would try to replicate the car just before it finished the race , the streaking was done as follows the truth was I went a bit too mad with the weathering and I had given the car a slight matt cote , so I couldn't just wipe off the over-spray , so instead I finely sanded it with used 4000 grit sandpaper which worked OK , I still have to add a light and a grill to the front as the kit one is not see through just a blob of plastic , I also had so smash the offside headlamp lens give it a slight weathering then gaffer tape both lenses up and cover them with bits of the plastic bags from the kit , I may have to redo the offside lamp as the tape isn't quite right
Cheers Sean
