Hi All I'm still about, but things have been a little busy with work and family stuff. Well, I brought this model for a club competition a few months ago but have not got round to taking any photo's of it yet. These were taken on the clubs stand at the MAVFA show in Duxford a couple of weeks back. The kit is from Italeri but it is expensive for what you get in the kit. No engine, the rear part of the body does not match the front. You need to do quite a bit of correction work with the file and filler on this kit, a disapointing kit. Aimed at the younger generation of modellers but in the adults price bracket. So here it is.

Nice job Mick, very nice job. I reckon that if the model was photographed on the right background it would be difficult to tell from the real thing. Best dirtying job I have seen for a long time, love the windscreen wiper sweep and the clumping by the sills/wheel arches. You'll have to take us all through that process (please, I have too many clean cars in my display cabinet!)
Regards, Steve.

Thanks for the comments.
I want to get some proper photos done for my website, but I'm using these for the minute. The mud clumps were done using some scenic scatter mixed with Revells Aquacolor Dark Earth paint. I just stuck clumps onto the model and left it to dry. Then just airbrushed some of the same colour for weathering.
I'll do a little article later and post it here and on my website. But it will have to wait until things at home are back to normal.

If there's one thing that really grips me though, it's that the companies add a few sprues to an existing kit calling it a new version. They have obviously tried this cynical ploy with this kit because the wheels are utterly wrong. They could have added the 15" gravel wheels to the kit. And an engine! Phil
