Well my sebatical from building continues ,the mix of work and family seems to be preventing any starts. This in mind i am concernred for my stash's welfare ,mainly regards decals .They are all boxed and well stacked(not box crushing)in a warm dry loft ,quite a hot loft on the rare sunny days !! All in the kits seems fine just wanted to check i was not getting it wrong somwhere as it might be a good few years till i can get back to the kits >good to see you lot are busy though ....

You're right, decals are the sensitive bits. Avoinding light and moisture are important, but the heat in a loft might cause you some problems as time goes by. Heat will affect both the adhesive and the decal film itself which could end up with decals splintering when used.
Because my hoard is rather large and it may be years before I get around to a kit, I always remove decals and store them separately. I lay a sheet of greaseproof paper over the face and slide the sheet into an A4 plastic pocket. I label which kit it comes from and then store this in a drawer.
