Ayup All... I've been trying something different recently as GB Leader over on the ATF Airfix/Dapol Rail GB.. She's not quite finished, needing her wheels washed with Citadel Inks, but here's a few Images of my Take on this Grand Loco, the last Built in England... The Evening Star... I've done a little extra like fitting windows in the cab, a wooden floor to it, and opening up the Skylight and I also fitted a floor in the Coal Tender. This is a 3/4 view of her with the top off... And top on... The paint looks fuzzy because it has a coat of GW Satin Varnish to seperate Acrylics from Enamels. once i've done the wheels, i'll put some Klear on, and then 12 quids worth of Pin stripes... Thanks for tuning in. (If you do) ...

Yes I'll look forward to that, I built one for my layout years ago when they were Kitmaster models but I have another Airfix one as well to do when time and editors allow. I used to watch one working over at temple mills and was impressed but it looked awful in dirty black'
I would like a model of a Beyer Garret just for fun as I climbed aboard the footplate of one at the drivers invitation during the war were I was evacuated.

Nice one Stu, I see that you're doing a bit of construction in the office, don't forget to keep an eye on those truckers waiting to get their loads weighed.

Ayup Sean...
Thanks Mate. As i said, i hope i can do the Idea Justice...
Nick, no worries. Trucks ALWAYS come first ! I alwayss try to get them in and out ASAP. That give me more time to fettle. and i don't bring anything if there's a bosses Pow wow on.
BTW, another good Firm, Fox Transfers. I ordered my pinstriping Thursday morning and got it when i got home from work yesterday...

Ayup All... I got started on Decalling today... COO ! what a fight. Even using plenty of Microset, they fought me tooth and Nail... The pinstripes seemed to love to stick where I didn't want them, and not STAY where i put 'em... But the Boiler pinstriping got Done. (Never Again !) the Smokebox Number, and the Cab numbers. I also finished the Tender Decalling. As you all probably find when you all Decal, one side went straight on, no bother, and the other was a 'Mare, the pinstriping fracturing into about 7 pieces. but like all good Jigsaw makers. I got there... I managed 2 coats of Micro Sol on too at the end of a trying day... All I have to do now is make the Nameplates and Commemorative Plaques up, and stick THEM on, Then The 'Star' will be done, indeed. Sorry for the poor Photos. I shall try to pinch my Dads Camera on the Weekend, and try to do my 'Star' Justice.

That looks like a real cracker - but you are right, the photos don't do it justice.

Ayup All... She's all done at last, but i took these just before finishing off the smoke Deflectors with her Nameplates... but what you see here is how she is... Love Me Tender...? Guess who forgot those sinkmarks... The Bridge isn't finished, but shouldn't take long once i prime her later... Parts of her were real Awkward, But i got there in the end.
