As you may realise I like to build to themes. Currently I have a couple of themes on the go. There are the cars of Chris Amon, Targa Florio racers and recently an offshoot of the later Jim Hall's masterpieces the Chaparral Cars. Jim Hall was a Texan driver and car designer who raced in F1 in Europe in the late '50s and early '60s. Having achieved that goal he returned to the US and went back to designing his own cars. His cars were always inovative a stylish in the extreme. He had success in the US and Europe with his designs. Kits of the Chaparral cars in 1/24th are few and far between I have three now and I'm promised a Fourth next year. This is my essential reference on Jim's cars: A truly fantastic Japanese publication produced with the direct assistance of Jim himself! I'm going to build all three cars this year I hope so individual build threads will be started for each as time progresses. I hope you'll enjoy watching me. THC

Just looked at the three subjects for your build elsewhere on this board Ian, interesting collection. Having now seen some of your work at the recent show at Donington, I look forward to watching the progress of this build, and they're in my preferred scale of 1/24. I still may purchase the Ferrari 250 GTO, I'm not an ardent lover of all things Italian, but that car has always done something for me, and no, before anyone asks, it won't have Gromit inside, I do have a serious side you know.

Not fully recovered cos the cold is still crippling me.
I spent a fruitful few hours last night on the main body molding for the 2F and it came up a treat. Should be able to shoot some primer on it tonight and then I'll see just how good the moldings actually are.
