I received a phone call yesterday from my youngest son who is an ambulance medical technician. He asked if I would like to come along as an observer on a little job he had been asked to attend, he told me he was going to Prestwold Hall in Leicestershire. Well, when I found it was the home of Everyman Racing: www.everymanracing.co.uk I decided to take my camera along. Here's a quick roundup of what I found, starting with Makinen's Mitsubishi Evo ...
... the Mitsubishi of Roger Clark ...
... and one of the not so famous but equally as quick Ford Focus RS ...
So why were we there? A film crew from Channel 4 Wales were making a programme for 'Garage', a sort of Welsh 'Top Gear', and they have to have medical cover when the track is live. They started with a rather fast Mini Cooper, didn't bother photographing that though, I was too busy looking at this at the time ...
the Audi R8, oh the sound of that V8 in full throat! There was also this white thing parked up ...
... a Nissan GTR, 3.8 litre 480 bhp wolf in sheep's clothing, and when they said would I like to have a lap ... well, it would have been inconsiderate not to have accepted.
;D
When we returned to the hangar, there was this little beast sitting waiting to be washed ...
... an Aston Martin DB9. Then there were Ferrari's, Maserati's and a multitude of other lonely rides, all waiting to be switched on and woken up, maybe I'll have another day out and drive a few?
Just to bring me down to earth, this was my ride for the day ...
... thanks for the day out son!
