Dear All,
I appeal to you all for help, regarding a request from an IPMS member from Belgium. That I am struggling to complete.....
Sam is trying to complete by May of next year a memorial to the Belgian Air Force, as well as others, and as part of this is making 18 Fairey Battles, 3 Gloster Gladiators and a solitary Hurricane, obviously all in Belgian markings. He also wishes to do a DC3 in SABENA colours.
I know that ESCI made a decal sheet that would be particularly useful.
It is primarily the decals that are proving difficult, particularly the number required. Bizarrely the old Airfix Battle kit had Belgian markings but the kits available at the moment do not....
The Hurricanes require the distinctive shooting comet markings, and all of them require codes/serials.
Can any of you help at all? Does anyone have any spare Belgian roundels or markings they can donate..?
Any help would be appreciated.
Feel free to contact me at,

Colin, I assume that these markings are 1/72nd scale? And ,admitting my ignorance, are Belgian roundels from the 50s and 60s similar in proportions and colours to those of 39-40? It may be helpful to those of us rummaging in lofts and boxes.....I've got some 1/72nd PJ resin Hunter F4 roundels somewhere that may be useful, assuming that their 50s format is acceptable. John

John, These would be perfect for the Gladiator. The black codes are 17mm tall and the white codes 6mm, the roundels being 14mm and 8mm. These are perfect for the Battle. The black codes are 22mm tall and the white numbers 5mm tall. The codes required are T58 to T73 And this would be really helpful... But any decals might prove useful, it is the sheer number of roundels and letters that are needed. 120 roundels and twenty different codes and serials, so any help you can give is much appreciated.
