Hi guys,
I need some fine stripes to go on the cab of my latest model. My original intention was to mask and paint them but when I put on the first stripe the masking tape lifted some of the base colour (near disaster but repaired). I don't want to push my luck so thought of using some white decal paper I have lying around painted the right colour.
So, if I paint white decal paper with Revell enamel paint do I need to varnish it before dunking it in water (accepting that I will have let the paint dry first!) or will the enamel paint 'stick' on its own?
Thanks in advance
Brian

I think you'd be ok just letting it dry Brian, the only reason i know of that means you have to varnish home made ones is if you use an inkjet printer simply because the ink is not waterproof, a laser printer's toner is waterproof so doesn't need varnished. As the enamel will not run in water when dry i can't forsee any problems.
Hope this helps you.

Thanks - that's what I thought but have never tried this before. Will let you know how it goes.
