The new Airfix 1/72 kit shows the upper fuselage and upper surface of the wings in Sea Grey Medium, while SAM Publication's Modelers Datafile on Griffon Spitfires shows the wings in PRU Blue. Can anyone confirm which is correct?

Depends which scheme you are doing....?
WWII scheme was PRU Blue all over...
Post war went to Aluminium all over.
Then to Medium Sea Grey on upper surfaces, with PRU Blue underneath, or vice versa....
If the scheme you want to do is Medium Sea Grey on top, then the wings are the same...
Which aircraft are you doing..?
Hope this helps. If you would like more photos, PM me.

Colin, Thanks much for the info. I'm looking at 81 Squadron in Malaya in 1950. That is one set of markings in the Airfix kit. The grey wing upper surfaces and fuselage make sense, but was surprised that the Datafile missed them. "Trust but verify." Thanks again. Bob
