Rolf,
Glad to see you have started DK310, assuming as LY-G, should be nice to see them alongside each other...?
Hoping to bring it to Telford...?
I'm bringing my little Swiss Trio...
See you soon.

Thought you might like some detail on the sortie (C/269).
F/L G.R. Wooll (pilot and 'L' Flt Cdr); F/S J. Fielden (nav).
Take off from Benson: ~09:25
Objective: Venice, Trieste, Pola & Fiume;
Aircrew Report (after return from internment): When estimated position 60 mls from Venice starboard engine developed a glycol leak and we were forced to feather airscrew (23.5K, 12:00). Set course base. To maintain height over the Alps we had to flog the port engine at 2800 revs and +9 boost. Over estimated position Zurich we were sinking into cloud tops at 15K and good engine giving trouble with radiator temps and oil pressure. We decided we wouldn't make England so at 12:30 we S/C for unoccupied France or Spain. At 12:45 we had to feather port engine. We glided down through 10/10 cloud, estimated to be over Switzerland. We destroyed the IFF, logs & W/T data. Crashlanded in a large field and tried to destroy aircraft but charges failed. Captured by Swiss Army. After a period of 4 months internment we were returned.
