Hi all
Any suggestions for an undercoat colour for a yellow topcoat. The yellow is either acrylic or enamel (not quite decided which yet) but concerned that I will have to put on a lot of coats of the yellow to hide the undercoat. Current thinking is to use Halford white plastic primer - but wanted to see if anyone had any other suggestions.
many thanks
anthony

It depends on how bright you want the yellow to be. I once used a yellow primer undercoat from Halfords for a project, slightly heavy though. Why not consider one of the Vallejo range of military colours and use that as a primer?

try using pink, I use this for both red and yellow- you can use tamiya (acrylic) or make up your own mix. I find it works really well

Thanks for all the replies. I should have mentioned this is for a 1/72 Westland Sea King - I wanted to do the RAF Rescue version (so fairly bright but not too bright!). I am even tempted to try the supplied airfix acrylics to see what they are like.
