Hi, anyone know if there are any sites with a build of the Airfix Saturn V (done well) I have googled it but did not find any builders sites. I am at the stage where all is sub-assembled and filler (loads of filler) has been added. Just wondering if there is any reviews where they have gone into accurising, etc. Thinking of tackling the black areas with black decal as masking the corrugated areas looks a bit tricky.
Regards, Steve.

Nick and Alfie, many thanks to you both, there is a wealth of material here and I am in a much better position now. Looks like the re-release is quite good, nice to have the base back, it seems it was missing from previous releases. I have purchased a set of 'batted' F1 engines in resin so my build will be flight ready. I'll post some pics when I get some progress.
Regards, Steve.

Saturn V is done. Thanks for the links, they were a great help. Airfix painting guide is a little missleading and I decided not to use it at all. An enjoyable build and I am glad I now have one in my collection. Built from the box with the exception of resin main engines, these are reworked to portray the protective 'batting'. I found them on ebay and thought they would help to make the vehicle look flight ready. Automotive paint was used throughout and the service module was covered in BMF. I did use Tamiya masking tape but the Black still bled through a little. It was touched up with Tamiya X-2 before finally sealing everything in with Humbrol satincote. I think I may make a better, more substantial, base out of wood. Here are a few pics.
