Dear All,
I know we all have 'pet' subjects........
And I know we all would like to generate interest in them. Can I ask you to give some thought to this....?
There are so many people, who create, models, and decals, all trying to create a worthwhile and commercial product...!
This is not an easy thing to do.
After all, if it does not have a broad enough market, then it will only please a few people and not make a profit.
Can I ask you all, to think about this and only respond with what realistically, might, I say again, realistically, be a thought of what might be worth investing time and effort in, and possibly result in a kit that will actually sell in numbers worth while.......?
To start the ball rolling,
How about a DHC 6 Twin otter, in 1/48th........!
Hugely successful aircraft, used around the world, yet no 1/48th model...
Please think about it, and I look forward to responses.
Colin

Excellent Idea Colin.
I would like to see a model of the Ark Royal in WW II con fig in 1/350 scale with Swordfish aircraft.
I think for Naval bods this would sell well.
For military bods a Ferret scout car in 1/35th, this can be updated with turret and or Missiles, plus the Amphibious Fox later type. Also the Daimiler Armoured car WW II.
I know these are done in resin, but maybe plastic and cheaper might make them affordable to many.

I know the manufacturers will never produce them, but for me it would have to be some of the older British trucks in 1/24 scale. Foden, Atkinson, Ford, and a range of older British fire engines. Ah well, I can dream.

Again I know these are available in resin but I think an injection moulded Scammell Pioneer/Explorer recovery truck would sell loads and then release the same unit but with a transporter trailer.

How about a range of 1/20th classic British F1 car Vanwall, Cooper, BRM etc.
Oooh a !/20th H16 BRM loads of Racing Green and a Rowing Team Helmet.

An accurate family of Hueys. UH1 B/C/D/H An HH3 Jolly green giant Airfix to re release the Cessna 0-2 or a new tool from somewhere else. All above in 1/72 for my Vietnam collection.
A Westland Whirlwind (Helicopter not plane) again in 1/72. I know there are ways to do this one but mainstream injection moulded out of the box would be nice.

Foxy, speeking as a "Naval Bod" 1/350 WW2 Ark Royal great, would certainly go for that, but I would really like to see an Escort carrier, Bogue class same scale, great variety of camo, weapons fit & aircraft & small enough to warrent buying more than one.
Also Flower class corvette, small & varied enough in camo & fit to make an ideal multiple purchase option.

Simon.
Now your talking, I would like to see some British naval ships in smaller types ie like you in 1/350, I know they do them in other scales, but other than 1/700, I only build in 1/350.
Your idea of an escort carrier is top notch. ;D
I am sure there is a market for this, as many shows I go to have this on show but in wood/resin as we know more expensive.

In 1:48:
Injection-moulded mainstream Grumman F11F Tiger. I cannot believe that nobody mainstream has ever kitted this beautiful aeroplane - I know there is a Fonderie Miniatures kit, I said "mainstream" - affordable would be good too.
Injection-moulded mainstream F-82 Twin Mustang (I understand that the Modelcraft example is not accurate, but I would be happy to hear differently).
F9F-8 Cougar with an option for the F9F-8P Photo-recce variant - I love that gorgeously ugly nose!
1:48 decals for the RAF Manston-based F-86Ds - we even have a decent kit (Revell) to put them on.
Surely not too much to ask?

I know this is a TALL order but I would really like the major model manufacturers especially AMT/Ertl to go back into putting out trucks again and all the old stuff not this new crap they have that's all European (sorry guys) I want Mack, Kenworth, Ford, International and all the rest that they use to do plus all the older car models as well, there is still a market for it they are the ones that pushed the old stuff away and destroyed it us truck builders so they should bring it back again. There that's my gripe and my wants for Christmas 2009 even though as a spiritual Jew I don't celebrate it. Dingo

As for me, in 1/48th, it would have to be a TU-22 Blinder. If they can cram a B-1B into a box... There's also a crop sprayer, I think its called an air-tractor. Great looking machine.

I'd love to see an S-Boat (E-boat) in 1:48. I love the Airfix one in 1:72 which is one of the early types used by the Kriegsmarine, and the later Italeri boat in 1:35 looks awesome in it's scale and detailed accesories, so one in between would suit me down to the ground.

All
Some interesting subjects but what about accessories. I wish one of the resin companies would produce a selection of Rb camera's for Luftwaffe aircraft of all focal lengths. Many are produced as part of a conversion but a box of a 5 or so of various sizes would be useful.
