Building this one for my wife - it is the last truck her Dad drove before he dies. I have built it in 1/50 but fancied a change. Base model is Italeri Steyr and thanks to Nick for providing the low roof cab. Here it is in 1/50... Chassis ready for piping/wiring but can't say I am looking forward to it... Cab shell painted... Interior modified and ready for priming..

It's looking good Brian, pleased to see the cab arrived in one piece.

Good finish on the cab, hope there's more than one piece though Nick . Don't blame you with the wiring, I spent about 2 hours yesterdat, re-reading Howards article on plumbing in TMW and making a diagram for myself. I found it very difficult to follow (sorry H if you read this) and the fact the photos don't allow you to follow the wires from start to finish ddn't help, along with the assumption that we all know what the various valves etc are! Finally figured it out for my Volvo though

I'd better dig out my copies, there's a Volvo FH12 rollong chassis on the bench.

Looks very smart Brian (though you look like you had the same problem as me getting the cab to sit level over the bumper!). You should be proud of your move to the darkside ;D

Thanks Andy. I don't know what happened with the cab/bumper as it all looked square until I put the tilt pins in. But its all glued now so there is naff all I can do about it.
That said, the bumper on the real thing was twisted the last time I saw it after someone reversed a trailer into it. So I suppose its actually very accurate!!!
And I can assure you, this was a VERY temporary move - I'm off back to small scale trucks now!

Brian, superb build, I bet your wife is really pleased with it as something to remember her dad by. Well done.

Great job Brian, like Nick says I'm sure your wife loves it. I did notice one teensy weensy little thing though... though it can be easily fixed... the side skirts appear to be missing the white pinstriping?
I didn't notice on the TMW forum, but when this one opened the white pinstriping stood out on the 1:50 scale version.
By the way those tilt pins-i've built a scania and a magnum with them so far and they all sit perfect until you put them in, which is a real shame.
Hope you don't think i'm nitpicking but its maybe something you just hadn't noticed!

I wasn't having a go either ;D - the same reason mine doesn't tilt

Didn't take either as negative - I am here to learn!
DAFt, it is actually the 1/50 that is inaccurate! The real vehicle didn't have the pin stripes but the Corgi base model I used did and I forgot to remove them. I don't have the model anymore - I gave it to the guy who looked after Derek in the weeks up to his death.
Andy, did you find a way to straighten the cab out - I can see it is going to really bug me.
