Browsing the Hannants website looking for EPTS markings for a Gripen (apologies for allowing an airframe into this site) I spotted the above kit for a mere £13.99. Ordered it on the basis that compared with my Tamiya/KW resin it would be a bargain. Arrived this morning in ginormous postal box which contained another largish box with the kit. Quick perusal indicated it has lots of bits, looks quite nice. Has anybody else seen this kit yet? A sort of Leopard II on discretely administered steroids, I will report further when I've had a chance for a proper look, but oodles of plastic and etch and a snip for the price, even if for spares..... hopefully its accuracy will be good so the spares box won't gain too much. An update on the strv122. Firstly it was a mere £15.99; typo on my first entry, apologies. I raided the loft and dug out my Tamiya and Italeri Leopard 2/5 kits, Italeri Leopard 2/KWS and the HKCW strv122 conversion kit. Looking at the Hobbyboss kit it seems very good for the price but with one glaring fault in the mouldmaking. The textured non-slip areas on the hull and turret have been represented as substantial rectangular cast iron rectangles with a scale thickness of at least six inches. These are almost impossible to remove without some major work. Even then I suspect that cleaning up the resultant scars will prove high on impossible. It does feature both short (as needed for the current strv122) and long gun barrels. Compared with the excellent HKCW resin conversion kit I would love to be able to recommend the Hobbyboss kit on the grounds of price and availability, but the excess plastic on the hull and turret mean that it is most suitable for a version wearing the Barracuda camouflage segments. It is rather sad that such a potentially good kit is made less than acceptable with such an obvious error. It does, however, add a whole new dimension to the efficacy of the SAAB Barracuda masking system! Sanguin
