I know U guys are in the midst of Volcanic ash at the moment but I thought U'd all like to know that my home town of Adelaide got hit by a 4 magnitude earthquake late last night about 11.30pm (Friday16th) we live 24kms south of the city and it occur about 50kms north east of the city so it will give U an idea of how big it was. I know 4 doesn't sound like much but for our city with a population of only 1 million people it was a big thing, the phones ran hot to emergency services asking what happened and where and if there was any damage but so far no reports have come thru regarding damage. Yes Kerin & I R OK so there is no need to worry and we where not rattled out of bed and even the cats R OK as well those mongrels slept right thru it. Dingo

Didn't know Australia had a tendency to earthquakes. Mind you my bro had a little one in Manchester a few years back.

Hi Dingo
Amazing how a little bit of ash knocked the hell out of the airlines and stranded so many folks on the ground for ages.
We have a fault line near Crief a few miles north of Stirling but cannot ever recall any tremors from it. When we have heard of other UK tremors the wife never answers me if I ask her "did the earth move for you dear?"
Ah well

There's been two reasonable sized ones in England in the last few years; the earlier one centred somewhere near Birmingham at night-time woke me with up with a shock 120 miles away in Leeds; the more recent one was centred in Gainsborough, Lincs, and we fealt that one one too.

Hey guys it's amazing how this planet although millions of years old so they say is still settling down, well not exactly it will never settle down and somewhere on this rock which is the 3rd one from the sun (no TV pun intended) there will be a big earthquake that will kill millions of people and rock everyone all the way around the planet but who knows when it will happen. They reckon we might get hit by a rock flying through space before we get rocked by an earthquake but my theory is that it will happen at the same time (hehehehe).
Dingo. Oh yea almost for got 2 days after we had our earthquake the small town of Boulder in Western Australia got hit by one that was 6.9 on the Richter scale and did quite a bit of damage.
