Hi, My name is Adi and I am 50, I blinked and missed my life!
I live in Darlington.
Currently unemployed having lost my job as a development planner as a result of the down turn, job hunting not going that well but my modelling is keeping me sane!!
I have dipped in and out of modelling since a kid. I have fond memories as a child of watching my dad build an Airfix Sundeland Flying Boat and Lanc. My first model was a Spit, the old Airfix kit in a plastic bag with card folio for a "bob" (that 5p) I made it so quickly the undercarrige collapsed. Moved on to 1/12th F1 cars and fondly remember finshing that cool black JPS Lotus.
Got more serious and now concentrate on 1/35th armour and 1/48th aircraft and dioramas but I will try anything (I have had the Tamiya Enterprise Carrier in my wardrobe for 2 years waiting for a berth) Moved to more complex techniques over the last 10 years and invested in a good compressor , airbrush etc. Won a Gold Medal with my first serious entry, a Bradley IFV.
Looking forward to posting piccies of my efforts and exchanging views on the forum.

Welcome to the forums Adi. So, you blinked and missed it all eh, well same here. I came back into the hobby over 20 years ago after more years than I care to remember. There are several threads here which should whet your appetite especially armour and I look forward to seeing some of your work in the near future.

Having been prompted about my membership logged back on. First my good news, after 7 long worrying months I am now back in gainful employment ;D and even better my gaffer is retiring and I have had the nod as her replacement, relief all round and thanks to all who encouraged me and stood by me.
Just getting life back on track, finishing a tasty F4 Wild Weasel and Challenger II. One of my new work colleagues has 2 young boys, handed over load of old kits and apparently they are addicted (inspired by me photos) same with my neighbours oldest who took pride in showing me his hand painted Spit. Will post photos for comment soon
