I made a few of them as kid, was particularly fond of HMS Shannon, the early 19th centuary frigate, famous for capturing USS Chesapeake during the war of 1812. sat on the mantle peice for years.
I think I am right in saying it is the only plastic kit of a British Frigate from that period , (only Royal navy ship except HMS Victory).
Good luck with them

Hi Alberthornby.
I have built nearly all that series, with the Royal Sovereign being my favorite.
From the cutty sark and many others, includeing the Victory.
Have a revel kit of the Victory to build as yet.

I have been experimenting with one or two of these little kits by making ships in bottles with them. So far I have put the Airfix Cutty Sark into an 'Old Rarity' whisky bottle and also put the Airfix Victory into a 'Dimple' whisky bottle. The Cutty Sark was placed by the conventional hinge and pull up the masts method, but the Victory had to be approached very differently. I had to get 2 kits and section the hull into 4 longtitudinal pieces and build up the ship hull inside the bottle and place the masts etc afterwards. Heller also have a nice range of very small ship models that include the Pamir Windjammer, and the Coastguard Cutter Eagle to name but a couple.
