My experience of this dates back as far as wings for which several of the last issues were simply unavailable from the publisher no matter what you did. I realise Tim has departed as a contributor, but I also collected Wings and obtained every issue. IIRC the final volume (11 or 13?) was cockpit interiors and I still have the full set hidden away in the depth of the attic. I also obtained each through subscription at my local newsagent. It's quite some time ago and there may have been one or two issues that needed chasing, but not insurmountable. Was Wings one of the first partworKs? I've never collected one with 'bits' included as I figured the net cost was probably too steep when compared to trying to get a kit, and none of the subjects has really attracted me. I did get 4 copies of a first issue of an r/c BMW as it came with a wheel/tyre that happened to fit my Tamiya truck! After a couple of weeks the newsagent was getting rid of them even cheaper than the introductory offer! Bargain ;D Rich

from the glimpses I saw on telly the quality of the kit seemed a bit iffy, I thought I saw a gaping ....well errrr.... gap in the lower glacis and some horrific mould lines on some of the components.....you can buy a r/c tiger that fires BB's on amazon et al for around £80......with a bit of work you can make them look pretty good so I am told....

There are mould lines on just about any kit you can mention, some are horrific, it's the modeller's expertise which creates a model from a kit. On the recent Trumpeter KV1-1939, I've had to fill spaces between the side skirts and main body using stretched sprue, apart from that it's a lovely kit. Not decrying your comments Karl but no matter what kit you buy for whatever price, you'll still have to use your experience to put it together.
Rich, thanks for your comments on past collections. I'm still undecided on the Tiger but will make my mind up after the next issue.

I see there is another part work doing the rounds involving aircraft, I think you get a die cast 'plane with every copy, that could be a worhtwhile effort, tho where you are going to display them could be problematical, swmbo may have some input on that....
