I bought this kit last year as a damaged box item. It is the Tamiya VW Golf Racing Group 2 model kit. It was originally one of the kits that was to be motorized and had some parts missing and the decals had some water damage . Also one of the wheels was missing and one of the window parts was snapped. I have sourced some wheels and various decals from the parts box and hope to have it completed shortly. This is progress on the body so far. Hope you like it. All comments appreciated as usual

Very nice and unusual colour scheme too Pat. It's a bit hit & miss landing on a Tamiya Golf these days. Persoanlly I'm after an Esci rally one for a project - hens teeth are easiser to find (at a reasonable price).
Looking forward to seeing more

Colour scheme might not be to everyones taste but they were like that when they used to race. The original Kamei ones were red, yellow, and orange. I've scavenged some BBS wheels from a BMW M3 kit I've got and modified them slightly to fit.
Hopefully some more pics today.
The paint looks more vibrant in the flesh too.

Looks good Pat. Have you painted the chequer squares on the bonnet or is that a decal?

I've painted the chequers. Practice for the Battenburg markings on the Volvo police car.

Yeah I've got a few more dub builds in the pipeline including an old skool style Mk.1 and a euro look Mk.2 and a few others as well.

Well I've finally decided to finish some of the projects that I have been starting and not finishing over the last few years. The first to be finished is this Berg Cup style racer. There are a few bits I would have attempted to do different but overall I'm pretty happy with it. All comments and advice appreciated as usual ;D

I know what you mean about unfinished projects Pat That looks pretty darned good to me! Have you thought about adding a wash to the wheels to bring out the detail? Rich
