I have picked up on a Russian cardstock plane site which has many of Fiddlersgreen cardstock models on it, what I would like to know is, do any of the members here think that if I by accident download a Fiddlersgreen model out of common courtesy pay Fiddlersgreen the equal value of the plane that is on their website sort of like a royalty of sorts, I feel as though I should as I have already let them know that this Russian site has some of their cardstock planes on it. To give you an idea of their price a Model B299 Flying Fortress is $12.95u.s. and the B36 Peacemaker is $20.95u.s. I currently have all their U.S. bomber on file, I don't want to fell like a sh-nook or a thief which I'm not when I first downloaded these models I didn't know they where Fiddlersgreen kits. Please help me in deciding what to do. Dingo

Hi Dingo
Of course you should tell the originator of the artwork. It's their copyright and, unless they have licenced it to someone else, it's been stolen and they are deprived of the income that their work should generate. Given that the other site is in Russia, there may not be much they can do about it, unfortunately....
As with all copyright issues though, the way you should look at it is that the person creating the artwork should be the person being paid for it. Why should someone else benefit? I appreciate that you downloaded these particular models for free but it's still depriving Fiddlersgreen of income.

Hi Dingo. If you want to put this right, then contact Fiddlersgreen and if you feel its necessary you can let them know the site and maybe to ease your concerns ask if you can pay for the card kits downloaded. I commend you on your honesty, most would just take it and leave.

HI again guys, just thought I'd let U all know that I reported the Russian site to Fiddlersgreen and they where very grateful YES the site is a pirate site and I have not been there since. Also I did something really crazy well two things actually, first I e-mail the guy who owns the Russian site and asked straight out if it was a pirate site and he openly admitted it is, second and most important I have sent an order to Fiddlers requesting the bombers that I want and they should be arriving soon, boy it makes me feel good that I've done both the report and bought something that will be i my collection that I haven't got for free or later found out that it was stolen from a legit site or firm in the first place. think these Russian have a cheek to rob people like they do. Also when I received the e-mail from Russia he sent it in Russian I suppose he thought "oh well this guy can't read Russian so he'll chuck it" unfortunately for him we have 2 Russians in our gun club and I got the lady to read it to me, the jokes on him guys. Dingo feeling good
