Hi, I have this old model that I built when I was a boy and wanted to restore to current standards: While it's not a difficult task I always thought there was something wrong in those long rear fenders with only two wheels, as if something was missing. I looked at many pics of the real truck on the net and I never saw an axle configuration like that, so I was wondering if it is real or fictitious. Now that I'm rebuilding it would like to make at least something likely if not real. I wonder if someone frequenting this specialized forum section may throw his knowledge... Thanks Fabio

Fabio, You are right to say sometjing is missing, another axle for one! Many who make/made this model fabricate there own wings to cover two axles. Personally as a fan of mixers i would do either 8x4 with 4 in hand or add a lift axle in front of the driven ones. If you need any pictures i think i could find some mixxy666 at gmail.com Cheers, Mick.

@southsix1 I saw that picture but it's a short chassis, so quite different from the MPC kit. mixxy I'd also like to add some interest with one more axle, I think shortening the wings would detract from the final appearance. Thanks for your offer, I wrote you. Bye Fabio

Hi Lonewulf,
thanks for your welcome, yes I'll try to post some pictures once I make a choice on the axles configuration. Cheers Fabio

Hi Mixxy, I found these two images of possible configurations. Have you any detailed images of the lift axle construction? They seem different from those seen on european trucks. Thanks Fabio
