Hi to everyone,
My name is Glen and I'm 46.
Currently working as a Shift Operations Team Leader for BP and getting back into modelling as a way to unwind from the stresses of my job and life.
First started modelling as a kid with the Airfix bagged kits from Woolworths and the Matchbox kits that had just started to come out at that time, stopped modelling when studying took over and other life events, girls, marriage etc. I'm amazed at how things have moved on with the hobby and the detail in some of todays kits. I'm interested aircraft and ships mainly but will "dabble" in other types. I'm keen to have a go at some of the Trumpeter 1/350 warships.
Looking forward to chatting to some of you.
Glen

Welcome on board, Glen.... was just thinking that your childhood modelling experiences were remarkably similar to mine - and a lot of others on here I guess. I'm slightly older than you but just spotted that you're in East Yorkshire, which is where I grew up, too.
Have you attended the Bridlington & Wolds Branch meetings? They're a friendly bunch - or so they tell me!

Thanks for the welcome GR1, I haven't attended the Bridlington & Wolds Branch but I do belong to West Hull Model Shipwrights who build and sail Scale R/C Model Boats, there are also a couple of members there who also like me build plastic kits as well, sometimes adding small r/c gear to them. Three of us are eagerly looking forward to going to Telford SMW2010 in the coming weeks. I look after the website for the club: www.mariner.karoo.net/Glen
