I think it was an Ertl kit Paul, complete with chrome plated rubber duck.

We'll have to recreate the Convoy at Telford pne of these years. I've always fancied building the Cruiseliner

The ERTL rubber Duck is the wrong truck with the offset cab from the DM! Apparently you need to start with the R600 and change the hood. Alastair Mclauchlan, who built the ace Duel truck in this month's TMW also had a superb RD at Gaydon (anyone got a pic?) and he made a correct hood for it - and used it to make vacformed copies which he was thinking of selling but I've not heard anything since

Years ago I built the Rubber Duck using bits & pieces from the Ertl & AMT kits and made my own sleeper for it that was just after the movie came out and Ertl producted the kit which was completely wrong, the only thing I think they had right was the duck mascot and the bull (animal) bar the rest of the kit wasn't worth spitting on. There are quite a few excellent articles on the building of this great rig and somewhere on a from there is an excellent build of this rig. Dingo

Darkside, not wrong there I actually did but in the end built something else out of both kits.

I have always fancied having a go at this one as well. I have managed to pick up a Mack R685ST kit that I was going to use as a basis for the build. I have also been looking on Ebay to find the proper kit to see if some of the bits could be used, but they sell for silly money. I have found a guy in America that makes the decals for the truck and trailer though!!

Has anyone seen the model I think it's on Evil-bay for sale priced $710us, I know it's a good rig and he's done an excellent job of building an exact replica of the Duck but man I'm sorry there's no way I'd pay that sort of money for anything, when I built the 2004 Holden Monaro for a guy who owns a shop near where I live and he gave it to his, I charged him around $300aust for that and I though he was mad well each to their own I suppose. Please don't get me wrong I'm not knocking the build quality of the rig as I know it's a fantastic and great model truck I'm just knocking the price but then I'm allowed in the West we do live in a democratic free society or use to. Dingo p.s Last comment was directed to the wikileaks saga.
