Hi everyone, this is Chocksaway. Known in real life as Graham. I returned to modelling this year after a 30+ year absence, i.e. I last glued plastic together as a youngster. James May is to blame for my return - I watched his programme on toys etc and thought, "why not?" and decided to have another go. I used to build 1/72 scale aircraft in preference to anything else. However, I did manage some sailing ships, battleships, Apollo moon lander and Saturn V, those Airfix historical figures, 1/12 scale F1 cars, tanks, armoured vehicles and other bits long forgotten. Most ended up going in the bin or in front of the air pistol! I thought I'd be a bit more focused this time, so decided to be ultra boring and build one aircraft in one scale, but obviously one that has some scope for variation. For me it could only be one aircraft as it is the ultimate - the Harrier. I've joined the Harrier SIG - because I need all the help I can get - and have thrown myself into this project - just to make sure I stay with it. My intent is to build 22 single-seat Harriers in 1/48 scale - each will represent a particular variant with a particular air force / navy + two specific to the Falklands conflict. By the time I finish, I hope someone has brought out some T-birds, if not, I'll be forced to go down the conversion route to do the same for the two seaters. Graham

Hi Graham,
welcome to the forum and back to the hobby.
Apologies for the lack of responses so far, but I suspect a lot of the regulars are putting the finishing touches to their latest creations for SMW this weekend!
If you're coming to Telford this weekend drop by the Harrier SIG stand as we're a friendly bunch!
Cheers,
Rob Monfea

Welcome back Graham Many of us have been "lapsed" modellers at some time in the past. Personally, I came back into it 3 years ago after being absent for over 15 years. Fortunately my son showed an interest which was just the excuse I needed!
Enjoy it this time round - it's never been a better time for the hobby IMHO!
cheers Rick
