A couple of years ago, I was approached at Duxford and asked if I was interested in buying a certain kit. It was part of the estate of a member who had died suddenly and they wanted to get the best price they could for the kit. We agreed a price and I promised that I wouldn't resell the kit for profit but would instead build the kit, not necessarily as intended, but I would build it. Well, the kit came in two filing boxes as the original packaging had fallen part, but as far as they were aware, all the pieces were there. Here's what I received ... ... I also received two further pieces of the kit which wouldn't fit into the box. The boxes have remained in the workshop safe and sound, but now it's time to open them and build the contents. The build will be a conversion and be a major undertaking. It won't be a simple build and I'm waiting for further reference material. It won't be a quick build, it'll take approximately two years to build the conversion, probably starting before the 'War and Peace' show at Beltring, although a major part of the build this year will take place at the show. Well there's a clue, it will be military. Can you guess what it is?

Erm, a Pocher Rolls Royce ? I left the properties of the pic exposed didn't I? ... Yes it is a Pocher Rolls Royce and it will be converted to a WWI Ambulance. I wanted to build something special with this kit and and the subject ticks quite a few boxes.

Ooooo. You're a brave man to chop a kit like that up! It's probably worth more than my (real) car. Phil

Phil Ayup Phil, looking at the postings on Evilbay, the kit is worth between £500 and £1,500 and possibly more, but it's only worth what folks will pay for it and to be honest, it's worth more to me built. I promised that I would build it and not sell it, and that's what I intend to do. The chassis will be built as the instruction sheet suggests, as will everything forward of the firewall, the conversion will be mainly from the front seats rearward.
