This evening I have started making this model - Airfix 1:32 Jaguar XKR GT3 (A03410). I know for a lot of you this will be a basic kit but as I have only recently returned to making these models I wanted to start off with a simpler kit. Despite this I am already thinking of doing a customised paintjob on this car along with not using all the decals provided within the kit. For the paintjob on this car I am thinking of possibly doing the body in a deep blue, or in silver, or red, or possibly British Racing Green (if I can find this). Also thinking of possibly having a couple of strips of white running along the body. As for the decals I am thinking of using the 2 Jaguar head decals over the rear wheel arches and the "Jaguar" sun visor. So guys what do you think ? All suggestions welcomed and sensible ones will be considered. Thanks Vic Attachments:

Well that's a coincidence, I have to build the Airfix #A03411 Aston Martin DBR9 as a review sample for the IPMS magazine, the other sample was the Jaguar.

Ok so this evening I have washed this kit in soapy water. This is following various posts I have read to get rid of any dust etc on the kit. Also I have primed the body ahead of painting in a few days time when I decide what colour to use. As I am thinking of painting this with probably white stripes my next step will be to the whole body a white coat or 2, then when I have decided what colour to do, will put masking tape where I want the stripes before painting. The painting will be done with an airbrush using acrylic paints. I intend to use a couple of coats of the paint, then apply the decals and then give it couple of coats of a clear coat. Attachments:
