Hi Guys, i have been looking at purchasing the Dragon 8.8 flak, and im absolutly gobsmaked at the price difference between various retailers, Hannants have the price at a massive £47. 80, yet the same kit at Modelhobbies is £34 80. a huge £12 70 difference. Other retailers have the kit between £35/40. Im wodering if the stock at some retailers is old stock before the problems with the pound and before the VAT rise but even takeing that into account this still seems well above what you would expect. Anyone know why!. Dave

It seems that Dragon kits are imported form China by a European distributor based in Austria. UK distributors then order Dragon kits from the Austrian importer. That means that the kits pass through at least two sets of hands before they reach your LMS, resulting in a profit margin being introduced each time before it gets to you. Dragon would sell many more kits here in the UK if they woke up to the fact that the high prices charged by the various European importers are putting people off buying Dragon kits.

Well, folks can always make their feelings known by closing their wallets and refusing to buy at the prices quoted ... but it would mean folks not buying any Dragon kits at all for that to take effect. Now that will never happen ... will it?

It is somewhat ironic that both Trumpeter's and Dragon's kits come from China, yet Trumpeter seem to manage to keep their prices keen in comparison.
From what I have recently read, there is something of a backlash beginning to develop when it comes to the prices which Dragon's dealers are asking.

Tried the Revell 1/72 issue of the 88mm? The price is right for what is offered, a very nice kit with something extra not offered by other 88mm kit producers.
