I picked up the Valom 1/72 Fisher XP-75 Eagle kit at the Milton Keynes show last week, and was surprised by the canopy shape. The kit canopy retains its full width aft for it full length, and is open to the rear. Did a quick check on the web for photos, but can't confirm or deny this shape. I did see photos of, I believe, a vac-form kit that shows the canopy narrowing to a point at the rear. Can anyone confirm the canopy shape on the first version of the P-75?

As the real airframe was made of bits of other aircraft I believe the prototype was not exactly finessed in respect joins etc. The images I do recall seeing of the first airframe showed a heavily framed canopy from possibly a dauntless or devastator.
As the prototype was now a high speed airframe its being open at the rear does not surprise me.
