Hi - a bit of a Reggie Perrin reference there.
A bit of departure for me, but does anyone have any decent references for a Leyland Hippo 19H Tractor? I have a BW white metal kit for which the instructions leave a lot to be desired.
Cheers Rich

Ayup Rich, it's the 'War and Peace' show at Beltring in a couple of weeks, if there's anything there I'll get a few photo's for you.

I'm specifically looking for a '60's fit if that makes any difference (he says showing complete ignorance). I think the version I have is a mk2 or 3(?) like this I would think the main difference is the cab, the chassis and fitments would be fairly similar across the versions? Rich

Hi Rich
I have been going to Beltring for some years and I cannot remember ever seeing a Hippo Mk 3 (or 4) there. I have a few pics, but not of the tractor version. Tankette Vol 36 No 4 had a 1/48 scale plan. send e-mail if you want to follow this up.

Clearly my memory is going. I have one pic from an old Beltring, but it shows a later model than the one in your pic - 19H/1E rather than plain old 19H. I have two pics of the one like yours - one with civvy body, and one with GS body - but no tractors. Let me know. Mick Bell did a 1/76 scale plan of a GS truck with cab like yours in Tankette some years ago too.

Hi Chris, I'm not trying to go into too much detail so the Tankette plans should do just the job, thanks. I've also acquired the Bellona Military Vehicle Data No1 which has an earlier version in. The drawing shows the nearside and front view of a Mk II/IIa GS whilst the photo shows the off side. Nick - thanks for the link Rich

Apparently the body of the 19H was the same as the Mk II so you'll be all right with Bellona data. However, your e-mail is hidden so how do I send it? (Newbie on this forum)
