Does anyone know if there is a kit made of the Austin Healey Mk3 with the 100/6 and if not is there a kit of any Healey that could be converted to a 100/6, this is my all time favourite classic car and if I could afford to buy the 1:1 car I would BUT in Australia at a bargin basment price of $65,000aust to start with it's a little out of my $70aust model kit price. Hi Dingo, Revell have just re-released the 100-6 www.revell.com/germany/cars/80-0023.htmlHave fun - it certainly is a great car - nicer than the Healey 3000 I think. Although the 100-4 is the tops, more charismatic IMHO!

Is that perchance the old Monogram/Matchbox kit? I've got one in my stash and it looks like hard work. Phil

Phil I am reliably informed - it is the Monogram/Matchbox - 'we' have the Matchbox one in the loft stash (sorry!) although who knows whether Revell have improved it? And the three part bodyshell looks interesting - and dates it back to the 60's we think

Here you go Dingo. This was in the Matchbox boxing of the Revell kit. Mostly from the box, I thinned the wheels & tyres as they were way too wide. The headlights are the very old style solid chrome plated which I left as they were. I also added jewelry wire to the tops of the wings. Engine was left as per the kit, plenty of room for detail in there. Body work paint was rattle can, the satin black good old Humbrol 85. Enjoy Rich

Hi all, Latest re-release in the Revell Classics series has all plastic wires and tyres, not the silly overscale tyres of the earlier re-releases. They're a bit over simplified but much better proportioned.
I think the original kit was by Revell and in a tie-up between the two companies, Matchbox reissued it. Maybe the latest version is a direct re-pop from the original tooling.
That's a nice job you've made of it Rich. Wheels look far better.
Used to have a 100/4 back in the early '70s. Great car and in my opinion, nicer looking than the 100/6. Pity there wasnever a kit in 1/24. The 100/4 usually had a slightly nose high stance which the later and heavier six cylinder lump put an end to. Those were the days.......................! Regards Dave [/size]

Hi Dingo, No hardtop in current kit, I've just checked. Don't know of any other kit for the 100/6. Guess you could plunge form one from sheet plastic with a bit of whittling to make a master. Only other way is to rob one from another kit and adapt it but that's easier said than done. Sorry Dave

Dave, I recond the AC Cobra roof just might fit with a bit of jigging about, anyway I'll soon find out as I'm about to order both kits for the tr, suck it and see experiment, wish us luck people. Dingo

The old Revell 100/6 is the only Healey in plastic as far as I know and the body has to be built up from a number of bits as I recall. Revell bought out the Matchbox plastic kit ranges and since then Revell and Monogram have become a part of the same company, so it's the same old kit under different banners. There may be some one who might make one in white metal. Try K&R replicas website and Scale Model Technical Services.......May be in 1/43rd though. Or alternatively try simply keying in the car name and white metal kits and see what gets thrown up by the search engine.
