I have had for ages, a link to an IPMS Review site. I tried to access it the other week and got page not found. Thinking it was under maintenance or something, I just ignored it. However, trying it today, I see it is still the same. Does anyone know if it has been dropped or has it been moved?
Be a shame if it has gone, it was the first place I looked to check out kits.

Hi Nick. I found this morning that the site I used to look at has been archived. It is part of the US IPMS website. When you go straight to the main page and select reviews there is a link to the archive which it states will not be updated. Sad really because the format for the new reviews is no where near as good. I am at work at the mo using my Galaxy Tab so I don't have the link with me.
I suppose the good news is that the old reviews are still available, a great resource for looking up kit info.

I started a similar item on the IPMS (UK) web site, it died a death, basically lack of interest, no support from members and a review site is only as good as the reviews submitted. Any review has to be subjective, if you open the box and find the kit is rubbish, then I would expect the reviewer to explain why he / she feels that way. I have no problem starting up a board on here but I need to know it would be supported.

I have had a couple of reviews published in the Scale Modelling Now online magazine. I quite enjoy writing them but it does take a huge amount of time for a build review as the photography, writing and building with the review in mind really slows things down.
My biggest problem, well not a problem for me but for others, is that if I like a kit, I like it. I am not a technical expert and I would not know and (sorry) do not care if the number of rivets do not match the real thing. To me, it is a model. It is more important to me that it looks right rather than measures to the nearest 100th of a millimetre.
I appreciate, and respect, that some modellers demand total accuracy but for me it is a fun hobby and I review with that in mind.
