First, the good news. Wombourne, Sutton Coldfield, and Romsey are all now confirmed as new Branches - a warm welcome to you all. For any in the vicinity of these new branches, the Branch Secretaries are:
Wombourne – John Turner, 01384 824912 Sutton Coldfield – Paul Barrand, 07973 810061, pkbarrand AT gmail.com Romsey - Paul Adams, 02380 398858, padams2446 AT googlemail.com
The Branch Returns / SMW display applications are now all in, so my thanks to everyone for that. Now the not so good news. Despite many attempts to contact the people concerned, including emails, and formal letters, three SIGs remain outstanding.
These are Commonwealth Air Forces Far East (CAFFE), Photo-Recce and Portuguese Military Aviation SIGs. Could the SIG leaders, or any SIG members with any news, please contact me asap! These SIGs are well overdue, and are thus reluctantly placed on a formal Year’s Warning.
As space is already oversubscribed for the Branch and SIG displays - we are grappling with that by reducing some table spaces where we can - it is unlikely that these three SIGs will have a display allocation for SMW this year.
Unfortunately, one Branch – which by its title, seemed it should actually be a SIG – the Miniature Armour Group, appears to have now folded.
I've just been approached regarding a proposal for a Search And Rescue SIG. Sounds like a good move, as the Red Cross Wings SIG has stood down. More on that later. Finding display space for it will be another challenge though...

Hi Phil, Congratulations, I'm sure you will do an admirable job. Did you get any joy in finding who runs if the FAA SIG is still afloat/airborne?

Just to confirm what Chris Walker stated I am still running the FAA SIG, I think I am still on the SIG page of contacts, I also sent in the annual return earlier this year
Regards Alan Carr,
