Cheers Don, nice to see you back on here, you really have to visit more often. I have to admit that once the first coat of primer is shot onto a model it's a nice feeling seeing it all together awaiting the top coat and weathering. I'm tackling the rear storage basket today, it will have to be a scratch build as it's not provided in the kit, well, should keep me busy for a while. The kit was mastered by Jon Bottomley with additional work by Derek Hansen. As for Accurate Armour having a Saladin in the range, you could always suggest it www.accurate-armour.com or perhaps upsize to 1/24th and attempt the new range of armour kits by KFS www.kitformservices.com/standard.html ... I can recommend the Bedford MK, superb kit.

Whilst at the Yate show yesterday I managed to get the paint I need for this build together with a base and ground material. However, I still require the 'L' channel and micro gauze to scratch build the rear stowage bin. It's either a trip into town or a perusal of the 'Squires' catalogue and order all I need from there. More soon!

Just shot the first top coat of paint ... ... Vallejo Air (71022 Camo Green) it looks a bit darker than the shade of green on the reference pics but that could be the ink in the printer, variations of colour tone ... anything. Apparently there is a vast shade difference from Dark Bronze Green to Light Camo Green, I've gone for a middle shade and will attempt to add highlights with pastels and weathering.

Ive discovered another part which Accurate Armour doesn't include with the kit which is evident on the real vehicle, it's the front gun mount. Don't know if you noticed but the gun is mounted at the rear. I've also moved the spot lamp forward on the cupola.

As you can see the front gun mount is above the drivers hatch with the rear gun mount clearly shown ...

I see, well like I said it was added later, not in my time, being at the age of 68 things have moved on. I thought these would have been succeeded by the Fox, but maybe not We do seem behind the times on most things .

Just noted on the size of the front mount, it is not for an MG, but something else?.

I've finally managed to source the channel to build the rear storage bin so I should be back with this shortly.
