This is probably an often asked question, but I have been unable to find a definitive answer. Anyway, my son is making the Trumpeter Sea Fury, and is finishing it in the colours of Peter Carmichael, However, I have not been able to find a definative answer to how the serial is laid out in relation to the underwing invasion stripes. I have no photos of the actual aircraft, but a couple of photos from the Squadron and Signal - Air War Over Korea suggest that the serial is fully obscured by the stripes. However, I hae seen a contempry photo showing that the stripes were truncated around the serial! I have discounted a modern Fury flying in these colours as having the serial on a white background as this seems implausable. Does anyone have any definative answer to this question? A photo of the underside would be most welcome. Also, Was the spinner EDSG as per the rest of the airframe, or a pale royal blue as some have suggested.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Ian
