Interesting news. It just goes to show what's still 'out there'. My Dad was always fond of telling me that when the Fens were flooded in the 50's, 3 WW2 tanks were driven into the river bank to seal the breach. As far as I know, they're still there.

Can anyone point me in the direction of a good photo of the engine bay, please? A fellow Ruttle wishes to superdetail his kit.

Always a pleasure...........never a chore.
If you need specifics, then let me know and I'll see what I can do with my digital camera. After all, there's a MT hangar nought but a gentle stroll away...........

Nick
Have you considered a visit to your local TA? They'll have 'rovers and they might even let you photograph them no doubt.

Now there's a strange coincidence. Parked outside the Auxiliary Regiment building is a 4 tonner with a canvas cover. From my office window as I sip my gently cooling cup of tea, I can see that the canvas is indeed in 4 variations (and that's only the side that I can see!): a new panel the same colour as Nick's model, the roof is a tad darker, which blends into another side panel that's nearly the same colour but has black camo edges and on the front is a very faded panel that's almost grey.
Please feel free to quote me on that. I would have taken a photo but I don't have a camera with me.

The 3 Rovers parked outside my office all have hardtops fitted. However, I concur with Karlos on the colour variation on the canvas version. The canvas is typically the same colour as our tents, but depends on how much outdoor bleaching they've had.

Absolutely!
Let 'em. I'm totally ambivalent on the matter.

I think that this is a brilliant idea. The IPMS Archive has loads of books which I'd be prepared to do a synopsis of. The idea of an 'aid to research' is a matter close to my heart as it's one of the things that I want to do with the magazines also in the IPMS Archive. The question is...how do we organise it between us? Failing anything else, I'll discuss the matter with Nick at the next EC meeting. If you're looking for that elusive book, try www.bookfinder.comAlfie

Nick
Have you tried Mike Condra and the IPMS instruction sheet library?
