Not a great deal of progress recently as I had to step away from it for a couple of days, due to it almost driving me mad. ONLY (?) the delivery pipe to install (and all the trials and tribulations that will bring).

I thought that I`d better give a quick update on this build in case you thought that I`d left the country. To say that this boom has been a problem is the understatement of the year. I completed the arms and got them to both extend and fold. Adding the concrete delivery pipe was something else altogether. Fitting it was no problem, getting the joints to swivel was a different story entirely. BUT WE ARE ALMOST THERE.

Jim, this is stunning work! As someone who dabbles at scratch building, I think that I can appreciate the sheer effort that you have put into your build so far. How on earth did you get the delivery pipe fittings to swivel?
Cheers
Steve

Have a look at www.ema-models.co.uk they make model elbows, flanges and pipes for industrial modelmaking, plus a whole lot of other parts you might need. The sizes start at +-3mm upwards. They are in Feltham, Middlesex. Colin

Thanks for the kind remarks they are much appreciated.
However, following loads of positive criticism, I`m going to give it a major makeover. The decals were homemade (and look it) and when I tried to reposition one, it lifted the paint - despite having Halford`s undercoat on. So , unfortunately, a full repaint is required. also it has been pointed out that the tower holding the jib is too high and needs lowering. So....................................! There have already been enough progress pics of this build so the next one will be AFTER everything has been rectified.

I`ve decided to act upon the criticism and rectify the points made.
