RD49,
Have you got a copy of 'Eyes of the Phoenix' ? It covers the subject of your Hurricane quite well.
If not, give me email with address and I will photocopy relevant parts of book and send to you..........
Think we will have room for it! Not promising as yet, need to look at shelving but looking good.

Rob,
I would agree with you about the availability of PRU blue in Malta, let's face it they used whatever came to hand, and from what I have read they tended towards the darker blues, partly through convenience and partly because they felt the darker blues were more effective...
Be interested to see the results of your efforts!

OK,
So an armature is a sculptural part upon which to base other developments, also a computational concept the like of which I do not understand...!
Lastly it is part of an electrical motor than spins around at high velocity, developing useful current, ie, activity....
I can live with the last, because life so often feels as if I am spinning round trying to do so many things, and yet only contributing to the overall effort........
I am an armature, and feel happy with it, sort of.....
Hey only another 10,000 hits to go, shouldn't take long for a spinning armature...............

I think I'll sit this thread out in my armachair and debate what I am going to do with my recently acquired Blue Max Bristol F2B, Eduard F2b and the Roden BE2C. Ah temptation! I suppose that the same prevert that designed these new fangled monoplane thingies also designed ladies tights.

Dennis,
I almost hate to say this....but here goes. Just when I was happy with Armature........
A 'prevert',..... is that sort of a young, and up and coming pervert???
Somebody who's starting to have slightly 'unconventional' thoughts about how you go about forming adult relationships......maybe someone who spends too much time being pre occupied with using the internet......who dreams of designing womens tights???
Some how the thought of rigging biplane models, is already having the required effect and I can feel myself calming down...............
Or maybe it's just a spelling mistake.......
Just got model of Mirage IVP, in 1/48th, God it's a big beast! Any body able to help with finding model of the Recce pod that goes underneath it?
God Dennis that's a lot of biplane(s) to do...Looking forward to what you do bring......last year we had nothing before WWII, should be a broader display this year.

Right, that's enough, now stop it: this thread is getting too silly. Pre-WW2 eh? Nice to see that the SIG is expanding, I think this is must be one of the fastest-growing I've ever heard of (excepting W&G, which is a unique phenomenon). Looking forward to Telford.

Colin,
I think I've been told off - ho hum. I was going to ask you to pull up a sand bag and regail you with Cold War stories from 139 Sqdn early sixties and how "Dr Strange Love or How I stopped Worrying and Learned to Love the Bomb" had a moral boosting effect on the Unit, but I won't bother now. This Armachair Armateur is already planning for 2008. I think that the SIG should go Agricultural. I'll let you work that one out!
Mike C.
Nice bit of gentle braking there, "Pre WWII" - is there any other period?

Dennis, Interesting question for debate: "This house believes that there is no period other than pre-WW2." But doesn't there have to be another period for the period in question to be "pre-"? To carry on the Python theme, "My Brain Hurts!" I vaguely recall that Jacques Prevert was a French poet I was obliged to study for A-level French back in the dim-'n'-distant. Totally unmemorable, as I can't recall a thing about him except what we sixth-formers called him (out of class anyway). (Yes it is the obvious). Cheers,
