Nice one Paul, although I think it's the same link Chris posted, I'll have a proper look later. That photoetch is nice, cost more than the flippin kit did!

Here's a question? ... Just what would these locomotives have pulled?
Just about every model I've seen of this locomotive, it's pulling the large guns such as 'Karl' and 'Leopold', or the suggestion of pulling these guns in the model catalogues. Is this based on fact or supposition, more realistically, would these locomotives have pulled freight such as tanks, vehicles, supplies and armaments?

Here's a question? ... Just what would these locomotives have pulled? The number of chickens an army eats, could they have been pulling the birds? ;D

Here's a question? ... Just what would these locomotives have pulled? Just about everything required by a modern country during war: coal, steel, semi-finished goods, spare parts, ammunition, old ladies, food, medical supplies, mail, radishes, armoured trains, wounded soldiers, timber, fire-extinguisers, machine tools, escaping POWs, butter, tanks etc. They were built for general freight work, but would also have been used for slow passenger trains as the need arose. Overt military use would have been a small percentage of their work.

Got one myself….but have not plucked up the courage to start on it as yet…. Try having a look at this website www.one35th.com/model/k5/k5_loko.htm it’s got lot’s of close up/enlargeable photos, as well as other things of interest….such as Wagon layout's for the BIG Guns Now has anybody seen a Resin CMK BR52 on display at several shows, with a 20mm Flakvierling 38 mounted on the back of the tender……did they actually mount this as such

Got one myself ... but have not plucked up the courage to start on it as yet…. Well that's three of us so far! ... Talking with Ian Sadler about the very same thing yesterday, apparently, he would like to know where the reference came from, as it's doubtful the tender would be able to take the weight? ... but if anyone knows different? That's a good web site BTW Melvin, nice one.

Can anyone recommend any good reading on the subject of armoured trains or perhaps a forum dealing with the subject?

Hi Nick,
I also have one waiting to be built, but haven't gathered the courage to actually start this biggy. Also my refernce on the subject is pretty thin, to put it mildly.
By the way, if you have some money left after purchasing the kit, Eduard did four PE sets for this kit. The price of all four of these equals or exceeds the price of the kit.
