I also have one waiting to be built, but haven't gathered the courage to actually start this biggy. Also my reference on the subject is pretty thin, to put it mildly. By the way, if you have some money left after purchasing the kit, Eduard did four PE sets for this kit. The price of all four of these equals or exceeds the price of the kit. Peter, It seems there are several of us with a big box full of plastic taking up space. So, towards the end of the year I'm proposing to start a group build with the Trumpeter train as a basis. But before starting the build, I'd like to find enough reference to be able to cover whatever we need. Photographs, drawings and web sites all relating to heavy German WWII Armoured Trains and rolling stock. I doubt that I'll be buying any of the Eduard stuff, I prefer the way the engine looks without it, and to be honest, I want to push my modelling skills to the limit with this kit, my feelings are that you get out of a project what you put into it.

Did you see the 'in colour' program last night on the Fascist It showed a brief glimpse of some Italians blowing up a German train, possibly a BR52 followed by loads and loads and loads.. of what looked like Panzer IV's and Sd.Kfz 251's literally flying off their transport wagons..... And the resulting smash was unbelievable ;D

Peter, excellent photos and I think I've decided just how I'm going to build the beast. I'm going to ... nah, keeping that little piece to myself or the moment, hopefully, ready in time for SMW 2008, with a bit of luck!

That's better, excellent diorama! ... erm ... your avatar is still not showing though, presumably it's on the same photobucket account?
