Julien Do you still have yr references for RF-8G and Photo Banshee to hand ? If so, I would be very interested to hear more as these are longterm projects "on hold" until I can get more gen ( and after I am trough with the "few" remaining Luftwaffe recce projects) TIA Rolf Rolf, no real refs used on the Photo Banshee apart from the internet, check this out for the banshee; www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid217/p55ddd33432bb47eb8a670262e045d2b0/ec53dd49.jpgFor the RF-8 I have a couple of ref books, If you let me know what you are looking for I will see if I can help. Hells bells, give us a chance, I'd have to make the stuff before I can display it, so may be no AFV's from me this year - on a background theme though how about some hessian type material in mid brown (won't crease and brown could represnt earth ...), or some camo pttern material 9assuming a Scorpian could be included in the disply) ? Been looking thorugh my books, plenty of tankie stuff that counts as recon (some very big) I'm sure some of the tanky boys must have some built already and may have it available .......

JonB, What do you mean, nothing this year! For goodness sake man you have 3 months to go, can't you squeeze a 'quickie' out....? Dear All, On another tack folks an interesting development may be in the winds for next year, SMW 2008......Been approached by IPMS AVON branch with a proposal for next years display. They vote amongst themselves for themes for future displays and have come up with the theme of...Reconnaissance for 2008! They have approached me with a view to requesting space at SMW 2008, next to us, as the Recce SIG, both groups displaying on the theme of Reconnaissance! I have to admit that I readily agreed to this idea, as the prospect of two groups both displaying on the same theme was just too intriguing........ Imagine a double frontage of display with a common theme? Just think about the variety that could be encompassed within such a display! Of course it is still early days and a long time to go yet, but what do you all think of the idea? ?? Go and have a look at previous displays by IPMS AVON, I did before last year to get an idea of possibilities.....They seem to put on a good display with some nice models!..Have a look! Apologies in advance if anyone thinks it is not the best of ideas, but I would suggest it is a proposal full of intriguing possibilities........What do you all think? ? Colin

Treadhead,
Go for it! Remember, you don't have to wait until next year! If you have something for this year, give me a shout.
Thanks Julien and Sloegin57,
Appreciate the support for idea! It's a go then?
Sloegin57,
What can I say, it just seems to be one of those subjects that a lot of people find intriguing for it's possibilities of models... By the way got photos of airship genesis, how's it going? My Viggens are coming along, big pair of beasts even in 1/48...
By the way can anybody tell me how to put photos in these posts? I cannot figure it out for myself and so I am after Idiots guide!!!

Colin,
SSZ going to plan, gave it an second sanding today followed by two more coats of "the mixture". I may start hollowing it out tomorrow.
Been working on the RF-8A and internal details of the Tiger Moth today, the latter would still be in the "research" stage if it hadn't been for some very quick and very useful feed back on this site (that ain't b******t - its true).
Found some very useful masking tape in "Machine Mart", Dundee yesterday. Very slightly thicker than Tamyia tape, same low tack, takes curves well, cuts cleanly and easily and only .93p for a 25mm roll. Called (this is honestly true) "ticky tape". Machine Mart product code:- 051915025. I'll probably find out that every body has been using it for years now!!.
Will keep you up to date, so far everything is on track.

Re reply 62: Colin, you and Avon are spoiling my plans ! Was thinking of skipping SMW 2008 and go to the Flying Legends show instead - now I'll have to save for another 1000 mile trip in November 08 again.... How am I going to explain to my dear wife I could not possibly miss a double sized recce display Rolf

OK.
Open Photobucket in a second window and leave IPMS site open in first.
In Photobucket upload a picture to the site.
The site will resize your image to an appropriate definition/size/dimensions. I use the setting for a picture size of 640*480 as this fits most discussion groups and forums.
After UP Load has finished below the image you'll see three or four lines of text. These describe the 'route' to the selected image and are different for each uploaded image. For the IPMS forum you need the route labelled 'IMG CODE'. Right click the route and cut and paste the one beginning IMG Code into the message you are creating in the forum. Finish your accompanying text, select 'Preview' and viola you should see your posting. At this point and before your select 'Submit' you should be able to adjust and edit your posting to correct and layout and context issues. Hope this Helped.

What would your feelings be regarding an F-7A in 1/48th ? An F-7a would be a B-24J, so in 1/48 quite big - would we have room for it (even with the combined display) has one already been done ? Aircraft is question is from the 20th Combat Mapping Sqn, I have a 1/48 B-24J sprayed and ready for markings, let me know if you woudl like it for the display - aircraft is Hangover Haven II with great nose art (this would be the nm version not he haze blue of Hangover Haven I). Please advise, thanks
