Mike C, congratulations!!!!
Now as for starter kits, what about something in PRU blue, same colour all over, no need to bugger about with brushes, get em on to airbrushes early I say!
As for "over the hill", I say your only as old as you feel,..... at about 2 o'clock in the afternoon, once you've warmed up, and the coffee has kicked in and all is well with the world!
Just posted to Chris N, if this all goes ahead, ideally like to display, possibly at Telford, any ideas? all my stuff is PRU-SQN's WWII, got to try and do the subject more justice, any ideas or preferences?, just starting on Meteor PR10 and Canberra PR3 that will hopefully ready by then.
Anybody else got ideas or preferences??? is it worth trying to get together a "dream list" of what we want? anybody interested in trying to work towards displaying anywhere else? suggestions?
Still like the idea of trying to meet everybody, far nicer to see everybody face to face, I feel, any Ideas?, I'm quite prepared to travel.

Where are you located Colin? You could always "pitch" to a few branches within travelling distance by visiting same - Avon meet third Wednesday if you're reasonably local-ish.
PS: Thanks for best wishes all.

Mike C, thanks for the invite, I'd like to pop in sometime, but unfortunately I live in Doncaster, S.Yorks, so obviously its a fair trip, and may have to wait a while.
I've just sent a message to Chris Norfolk, in response to his offer to meet up at gateshead, so I suspect its going to be a matter of gradually catching up with people at shows. Any down your way? obviously there is Telford in November. Would it be a matter of eventually catching up with you there? In an ideal world I'd like to exhibit at telford, and if so would try to make a more strenuous effort to meet everyone beforehand, and talk about models to exhibit, etc
I suspect for now we are going to have to keep corresponding via this site, until plans become firmer.

Hello all.... Just been giving some thought to a "master list" of recce aircraft, as a possible list to work off, and realised I found a website a while ago that does a good job of covering the subject of aerial reconnaissance, and furthermore quotes a comprehensive list of recce aircraft of the world. Believe the site is run by one of our airmen, who is "otherwise engaged" in the middle east at this time! Have a look at it, I've tried including it here as a link but it doesn't seem to work, my fault, I'm not familiar enough with how to do it, any tips? ? You will probably have to go searching for it, but persevere, it's worth a visit! Have a look, see what you think of it as a list to try and work towards covering? it might give you ideas for something to have a go at, I'd not thought of a RB 36!, look for ward to your thoughts.. www.spyflight.co.uk/main.htmcolin

Easy reach of the M4 and M5, loads of free parking, why not head south and give it a go?

Mike C, OK its a go!
Just checked with "higher authority" and yes our calender is clear! The grand and cunning plan is that I would like to attend your "greatest one day show" and exhibit my modest little collection of Recce aircraft at your show! I can quite happily fill 2-3 tables with my wares, who do I need to contact? and where I am I going to?
The down side is that my wife and mother-in-law,"do" Bristol while I am there!

If we are still looking for a Motto, a good one for recce aircraft I heard (I can not take the credit for this one) is;
Alone, Unarmed, Unafraid!

Colin, Yate has easy access from the M4 and M5, which junction off which depends from which direction you are coming. Let me know and I can send directions. I've PM'd you about your request for display space - sorry, but we are fully booked with a reserve list.

Julien D, nice one! although having read a couple of biographies by pilots who did the job, I'm not quite sure that "unafraid" is completely appropriate, I've tried putting a link in here but its not quite worked, I'll try again, but it might not work. You could always email me, my details are on the members bit, and I'll have a go at emailing you a couple of articles I've found.
If not try looking for, Do you believe in gremlins? You might find some interesting tales!
By the way if all goes according to plan and the SIG is ratified, and we apply for display space at SMW 2006, and get it, would you like to display anything? anything particular? Same question for the rest of you? Anyone want more direct contact, please look at my details under members, and feel free to use email address

Mike C, Bugger was hoping to show some PRU blue beauties off! ah well, the cunning plan is still to attend, and have a day out any possibility of being put on the reserve list? Hell give me a call the night before and I can shove some boxes in the car before we depart!
Havn't read PM yet, but I'll be coming from up north, where it's grim, down the M5?, give me a clue about where to find you etc

Everybody........
Motto's? A few suggestions so far, and my preferences swinging from one to another, any suggestions? concious of contrast between "classic" PR, alone in prop aircraft, ie first world war in a kite made of wood and tea towels, to WWII, still although in metal/wooden aircraft very much a leap into the unknown.... To more recent metal wonders, at the edge of aeronautic boundaries, particularly with lots of people trying to shoot you down, to more recent events, sat on the ground, controlling a "robot" half a world away. Hell of a contrast! but so many people from politicians to those that "do" the grubby work depending on the results!
Any ideas, maybe we ought to work towards a poll?
