Hello All...
Seeing as we have all this 'room', I was thinking about what threads would be of use............................................................
I know it's only a few weeks after 2007, but thinking ahead.
How about this one for us to post messages about what we/I/us, are hoping to produce for SMW 2008.................................?
I will be trying to encourage Avon branch members to have a look and contribute as well, might help us to get an idea of what we have to squeeze onto all the tables, and themes that may emerge within the general Reconnaissance theme for next year.
What do you think? What are you thinking of? I do appreciate it might duplicate slightly what has been posted elsewhere.......

Hi Colin,
Already started an Su-22M4R "Fitter" in Slovak markings, fortunately the Kopro kit includes the correct recce fit, including the most sci-fi-looking ECM pod I've ever seen. Considering a Fiat G.91R. Finished the F-3A Havoc. Still gathering courage to get the SR-71 out of the loft.
Cheers,
M

Colin & All:
As already mentioned - possible theme RAF 90 years anniversary -
My planned construction sequence may still be modified with possibility of being able to offer: Vulcan MRR and Valiant B(PR)1 to go alongside my already finished Victor SR2
instead of dabbling with more "Germans" and proceeding with the Dornier 17 / 217 family .
Or has anybody else the finished items to show a trio of recce V-Bombers?
Wouldn't want to carry coals to Newcastle....

Colin/All
I have the following planned:
HS 126 in 1/48 Bf 110 converted from the Eduard C kit to the PR version. Me 109 E5 converted from the E4 and to finish off the Fiesler Storch in 1/32 - enormous!
Also plannning a bit of Armour and possibly a 1/16 figure of Rommel - not t mention the Rail GB.
Only trouble is, what to do from Feb onwards.

Nick
We all had a small discussion some time ago about various recce vehicles. I have picked up a few examples of Luftwaffe Recce which was under represented and there was also discussion regarding armour recce vehicles so we are looking at adding them to any display.

I'll aim to do a Tornado GR.4A as it's the RAF 90th next year.
I'll be otherwise engaged building Phantoms for much of the rest of the year ahead for Teds big display.
Cheers,
Rob M.

If no one else is doing it I can do a 1/48 RAF Phantom (2 sqn) with a big shark mouth on the recce pod, however if someone else is doing it / has done it please advise and I shall do something else (exercise Sparton marked Mustang II anyone) ?

Shark-mouthed recce pod? Has anyone else claimed it? 3-2-1-that's a no, go for it, I look forward to seeing it. It will make a nice contrast with my RF-4C: I know it was there this year, but next year it will be paired with the F-3A that's also called "Starize". Cheers, M

Oh, have we had an interloper?
Nick, thanks for the comment........see them off.
Dear All,
Been having a bit of a think, it is the 90th anniversary of the Royal Air Force next year, so I think it would be appropriate to commemorate that in some way........as many other people are probably going to do as well...
However, how about a "Recce" twist? How about a 2 Sqn display from WWI up to date?
Reasons being,
(1), 2 Sqn have always been involved in Recce.....
(2), 2 Sqn, is, with some justification, the oldest squadron to fly heavier than air, aircraft in the RAF, and therefore laying claim to being the 'senior' Squadron, (1 and 3 Squadrons will dispute this!), endlessly......................
(3), I already have a collection of 2 Sqn models, and am going to continue that this year, hopefully up to date.
(4), Dennis has volunteered to model WWI to WWII models of 2 Sqn.
(5), Rob's hoping to do a Tornado GR4, (how about 2 Sqn Rob?), Raptor would be good.....
(6), Jon.B, how about a 2 Sqn Mustang? Let alone 2 Sqn Phantom??
(7), 2 Sqn does have a most distinctive emblem, and have flown plenty of aircraft, that gives plenty of scope for people to have a go at doing one of them! And would be an easily recognisable link between the models.
(8), Luke who showed lovely little armour display, might be convinced to try and model some RAF Recce display...Let alone an armour display, I for one will be having a go at armour this year.
Now of course, "Shiny Two" are not the only RAF Squadron to do Recce, and have never really done Strategic Recce, so Rolf's suggestion of completing RAF Recce lineup with the 3 "V's" would complement nicely.....let alone the Canberra's and all the other various types that could be done.........What do you fancy having a go at?
Also think Paul's suggestion about Luftwaffe Recce is worth much attention, as lets face it, most people don't appreciate how much the Luftwaffe did, or what aircraft they used....
Let alone all the other Air forces and aircraft......
Goodness, I am going on a bit.
What are your thoughts folks.....?

Dear All,
Looking at last post, it strikes me that I am suggesting nothing else other than a 2 Sqn display....
Not the case..............
Just had this image in my mind of RAF display in one line, from one side to the other of 4 tables........
Plenty of room for all sorts of other models.........
