Hello All...!
This is the 'new' thread........ hope you all got home safe, and interested upon your 'reflections' about this year!
As said before, so many thanks to you all, I never anticipated it would turn out like this, hugely satisfying.........
But we cannot sit upon our Laurels, have to look to the future.....
I for one am not going near a model for a week, but by the weekend, I may break that promise/intention......
love to hear from you...
Colin

Hi Colin,
Got home safe thanks. Already started an F-6D (that's a P-51D with cameras for the less enlightened) for next year, but vacillating between two possible examples, equally colourful (or being a US aircraft, colorful) - decisions, decisions!

Hi there ya all,
Got back to Scotland after an 8hr drive up the country, models survived - now back in show case. What a great bunch of people you all are, you know who you are, the many I spoke to - what a weekend. Now I can put faces to "callsigns". Thank you Harrier SIG for FINALLY letting me join. Thank you Phantom SIG, I may well drop my reservations and actually build one. Thank you all in the Recce SIG for the whole weekend - no names no pack drill, just thanks - best bit of therapy I have ever had.
Back to normal now I suppose, grandkids visiting at weekends, modelling only possible Monday to Friday in the shed, I think 8hrs a day is just about enough, gives me the evenings of to plan for more.
For 2008, and the Scots Nats are only 20 weeks away now, just bin looking at my partly built 48th F105D. Now if I remove the ecm blisters, get rid of the cooling ducts at the rear, sand of the mainplane strenthening plates, cut the nose orf here, build a new shorter one, put a bit of glazing in as per the drawings, paint it silver, dayglo and olive drab, add a few decals...........hmmm..........wheres me modelling knife, one JF-105B on the bench and running.

Back to normal..............
The toilet cistern started to overflow......
The washing machine has gone on strike....
The DVD has keeled over and died....
The 'Hot tub', yes we have a hot tub, has decided it is too cold and stopped working....
AND I HAVE A STINKING COLD.......Thanks John.
Back to earth with a 'thud'...............plus it's cold here in the garage!

Colin,
hope you still have some cheese left to help getting over all this "normality" ....
All; it was a real pleasure to share SMW 07 with all of you - actually meeting everybody face to face was the most enjoying part of it. Meeting and talking also even helped to keep the buying very reasonable !
Thanks again to Colin for putting up such a stylish display !
Got back slightly tired late Monday evening and the models made it back safely on Tuesday thanks to Seb.
Now I am torn between more German recce birds or Vulcan, Valiant and Lancaster MRII, and the book on the Me 264 has fired the desire to model the "America Bomber" ....
Cheers to everybody, already counting....

Hello MikeC,
suppose the F3A will be "Starize" as yr superb Phantom and also to quarter scale. But if you know of the same decals in 1/72nd please let us know, also on the sources if possible, as an F3A of course is on my low priority list too.
Will presently most probably stick to some more "Germans" - at least until the Do 17 - Do 217 family is covered.....

JF-105B new nose contours plotted, draughted and ready for transfer to card. Used the side view drawings from "Warpaint" as a guide
Battlebag envelope disected and I need a new one for next year.
Quarter scale Me110 from "Recce for Rommel" being given serious thought but not researched yet. (I could well be picking your brains soon Rolf).
Still getting itchy fingers over two Be2C's, two Brisfits and two Fe2B's just begging to be built but best of all..............
.........I finally found 1/72 plans for the Maurice Farman MF-11 Shorthorn in a copy of Aviation News dated Sept 92 and as I like scratch building - biplanes - and rigging..........multiply by 150%?..........hmmmm.
I wonder what we will all come up with next year especially as I have pre-booked an order for various Canberras/B-57's with Wonderland down south in Edinburgh who appear to have a slight sale on !!!.

Hi Rolf,
Yes, it will be "Starize"; I'd already made the RF-4 (Xtradecal markings btw), when the Eagle Strike sheet for the F-3A came out I just had to do it. Unfortunately, I don't know of anyone who does this scheme in 1:72, sorry.

Hi Julien,
I'm contemplating a Fitter as well, in my case in Slovak markings. Been doing a bit of digging recently; Model Aircraft Monthly, May 06 and Model Airplane International, Nov 06 both have articles, the latter's mainly a build, the former has some background. Describes the recce fit exactly as the Kopro 1:48th kit (assuming that's what you're using too) specifies it in option "A": recce pod on c/l, ECM pod on port inner wing, two taks on the outer stations, and a rocket pod to "balance" the ECM pod.
Let us know how it goes - I won't say "race you" because I build slow!

Hi All,
Do I remember correctly Dennis noting in an earlier post that 2008 will be a RAF anniversary ?
As we have not yet really decided on a common theme for SMW08 would you Brits and Scots not want to celebrate this with a corresponding display ?
My planned construction sequence may still be modified with possibility of being able to offer Vulcan and Valiant to go alongside my already finished Victor, instead of dabbling with more "Germans". Or has anybody else the finished items to show a trio of recce V-Bombers?
If you decide soon enough even a demanding MACH 2 Valiant should be feasible until autumn next year I hope. (I'm not the fastest builder - ask Colin)
