Just thought I would post this up so we can find out more about each other.... To be fair judging by my avtar and user name you must think im an over weight dog that likes to dance.... LoL So here are just some "get to know each other" questions... (stands up!) Name:My name is Paul Findon. Age:Im 32 years old (mental age of around 6) Location:I live in a small village near Burton on Trent. Job/work:I work in Vehicle Disposals on Behalf of H.M Revenue and Customs. (Leavesley International) Modeling Preferances:I enjoy mostly figures (6" or above) however Ive taken to doing Civilian vehicles just recently. Modeling dis-likes:Ive never enjoyed making planes (although I will complete a Thunder jet I have) Favorite model you have built:Im torn between my 1/24 Workshop and the 1/24 Black Hawk Down. And finally, Which model has given you the most grief:I would have to say the Vamporella/pole dancer, Ive had it for many years and every time I pick it up to work on some thing always goes wrong.

Nice one Paul. OK, I like this idea, so I suppose I'd better tell folks who I am ...
Name ... Nick Allen
Age ... 58
Location ... I live in South Derbyshire which is just off the new A50 to the South of Derby (about 20 minutes from Paul). I'm a retired firefighter, now working for a Mercedes as a service drver.
Modelling preference ... I prefer trucks in the larger scales, but recently I've been dabbling in 1/35 military and also tempted to build a couple of wingy thingies ... but I will build anything interesting or daft (remember Wallace & Gromit)?
Favourite Model ... 1/25 Mack Bulldog, love that kit, got several in the stash which have been earmarked for something special. I'm also rather proud of a 1/16 WWI Military Ford Model T' Fitters Vehicle which was abot 60% scrathbuilt.
Which model has given the most grief? ... Titanic grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Job/work:I work Leavesley International who sell specialist vehicles, plant and equipment along side the disposal of vehicles on behalf of H.M. Revenue and Customs. Modeling Preferences:Mainly 1/12th Motorbikes and 1/24 Cars, but when the stash is built might venture into other areas. Modeling dis-likes:I wouldn't say I have any dislikes but I can't see me ever doing figures or being any good at doing them. Favorite model you have built:My 1/24th Moto GP Spidey Bike Which model has given you the most grief:This would have to be the 1/24th Yamaha YZR500 with the Studio 27 detail up set as getting the bodywork to fit round the metal parts was a nightmare .

Sanguins Secrets...... Name John Peto Age 58 (physical-mental, somewhat less.....) Lives Boughton Under Blean, near Faversham, Kent Used to be a Biomedical Scientist in charge of Blood Transfusion at Kent and Canterbury Hospital, retired through ill health after a stroke. Currently on rehabilitation course organised by my wife which includes vast amounts of decorating and (as spring arrives) doubtless flippin' gardening as well. Modelling interests Essentially Swedish things with wings or rotors 1/72nd, Swedish military in any scale from 1/35th to 1/87th 'cos beggars can't be choosers and odd things that take my fancy like Can Am cars, the odd F1 wheeled beastie, WhatIfs of various pedigrees(or lack) and once in a while a ship or car or aircraft that is of particular local historic interest. Best Model None that I feel really satisfied with, although my Flygvapnet ASR Rotodyne, inspired by Ted Burnett, was both pretty and fun. And the Swedish Shorts Skivan in splinter camo was very interesting. Worst Models Currently Airfix TSR2 and Mach 2 Valiant (my godfather was a crew chief on one with 207 Squadron) are proving to be intractable and may well return to the loft as Cat 3. My wooden Bluenose schooner kit has been pending for three years in the desperate hope that warpage will allow the hull planking to fit more precisely than I seem able to cut/plane/sand it. We all make mad decisions...... Pet Hates Pets Unfulfilled Ambition One share in Shepherd Neame Brewery for every pint that I have consumed in the last forty-odd years. Then I could afford to employ someone to make my models for me......

Treadhead's Blueprint...... Real Name Howard Freeman
Age 50 (mental - probably a lot less)
Lives Longwell Green between Bath and Bristol in the West Country. I work for BT as a Systems Admin now, I transferred over from being a PC engineer when BT contracted that part of the business out Grrrr....
Modeling Preferences: Armour and softskins in 1/35th, but I must admin the siren call of 1/48th is being answered a lot these days. I also enjoy Games Workshop kits - I don't game with 'em but they are fun to build and convert!
Modeling dis-likes: Rivet counters.
Favorite model you have built: My 1/35th scale T-34 Beautepanzer - it all just came together right. Pity I can't explain why really, and do again with another kit...
My Model Ambition Build my 1/16th scale Trumpeter T-34 - the box alone is longer than my modelling bench!
And finally, Which model has given you the most grief: Has to be a garage resin of the Discovery Pod from 2001. Still waiting completion after all these years.

Name: Ian Hartup.
Age: I'm 39 352 Days
Location: Kippax near Leeds
Job/work: I work in Sales for a Kia dealership
Modeling Preferances: Cars, 1/43rd F1 and 1/24th Road Cars. I do dabble in 1/20th and 1/24th Race cars. Used to build aircraft and armour but a major life change pushed them out of the equation a couple of years ago.
Modeling dis-likes: Carbon Fibre decals that won't lay down when you want them to!
Favorite model you have built: From my aircraft days my Maurice Farman MF-11 was a real humdinger. Cars it has to be my 1/43rd Monaco Ferrari F399 (Eddie Irvine's car).
Which model has given you the most grief: I've been working on an Aeroclub 1/48th DeHavilland Rapide for several years now. I bought it to enable me to produce a model of the Duxford based aircraft I took my now wife up in to propose to her in. It is not an easy kit to do 'right' but I will finish ... ssoon... I hope!

OK, here we go . . . .
Name : Ian Crawford
Age : 60 and a bit
Location : Lincoln (in 'Bomber County')
Job : As directed by SWMBO (used to be a primary school teacher but took early retirement some years ago)
Modelling Preferences : Aircraft, generally in 1/48 scale, usually WW2, frequently single-engined fighters, often RAF. In a word - Spitfires!
Modelling Dislikes : 1. Rubbing down. 2. Rubbing down, 3. Rubbing down! Incidentally, I totally approve of 'rivet counters', if by that we mean people who know enough to point out inaccuracies. They are one reason why the hobby makes progress.
Favourite model I have built : Probably a (then) brand new Frog 1/96 scale Britannia that my father and I built together in about 1957, long gone now, but fondly remembered.
Model that gave me the most grief : Anything by the unlamented 'Merlin Models', and in particular their FJ-4 Fury. Now that I've thought of that after all these years, I'll have to go and lie in a darkened room until the twitching stops!
