Charles King is my name and hail from a little town called Falun; two and half hours drive from Stockholm city in Sweden. I was Born in 1969, in Liberia but have been traveling since I was born. I'm 40 years now and Lived in many countries and finally reside in Sweden for about 20 years now. Work in the lines operator in a steel factory.
I have been interested in modeling since I was 12; though there was other interest that took priority at the time. Not until recent,in 2002 that my interest was rekindled. Been modeling in 1/35 since but stopped about year and half due to a burnout. Now I am becoming interested again, but in 1/24 & 1/25 scale trucks. At the moment, I have to wait until I move into a bigger place with my girlfriend as we live in a small place. Until then, I'll have to keep my interest by looking at other work on the net.
My dis-likes? Not sure.

Welcome to the forum Charles, and many thanks for sharing some of your armour models with us. So you're interested in 1/24 - 1/25 trucks eh? ... can't wait to see what you do with those.

Gerard, welcome to the Forum, pull up a chair and have a good rummage around, I'm sure you'll find something that interests you, more to the point, I look forward to reading your posts. I see you used to be involved with the design of the engine compartment of DAF trucks ... interesting, there are some very good truck modellers on here, I'm sure they would appreciate any detailing assistance you may be able to give them.

Welcome, Gerrard - I am ex-DAF as well, but I was based in Sales Engineering at Thame in the UK. Spent a lot of time in Eindhoven, though.

Nick, Brian,
Thanks for the welcome.
For your information, I wasn't directly involved in the design of the engine compartment. I worked on the design of the (MX)engine it self. Because I did a lot of the external piping on the engine, there is a measure of knowledge about the engine compartment but it isn't complete.

Hi everyone, I'm new to the club and to the forums, finally took the plunge and joined up ! I have been around on many of the other sites for quite a whille under the name BigJon... Here's my little intro shout
Name:
Jon Hayward
Age:
I'm 27
Location: I live in Dudley, West Midlands (and yes I do indeed carry the distinctive Black Country accent!)
Job/work:
I am a Design Team Leader.
Modeling Preferances:
At the moment I am purely 1/35 military vehicles and dioramas but I do plan to branch out.
Modeling dis-likes:
I don't dis-like anything really other than my annoying habit of never quite finishing anything 100% before starting the next kit.
Favorite model you have built:
Tasca M4A1 early converted to mid production (finished just in time for them to release the mid production kit).
Which model has given you the most grief:
The same model got smashed recently so I guess that one could fit in here. I've fixed it now but man, what a blow that was.
Cheers Jon

Jon, welcome to the forum. So you like 1/35 military vehicles eh? ... but you're intending to branch out? ... 1/24 trucks perhaps ...
;D
I notice you live in Dudley, well, take the trip up the A38 to Alrewas on the first Friday of the month and join us at the Derby / Burton meeting, you'd be made welcome.
