Ya know that bugs the hell outa me. Blokes round here can't find a decent lass for love nor money. I guess its the extreme rural nature of the area.
In fact I do believe someone ran a TV prog on real live farmers that need wives or summat.

Hi all, i'm another newbie here so i thought i'd use this as a good way of introducing myself. Name:
Ryan Waldram
Age:
28
Location:
Traralgon, Victoria, Australia
Job/work:
Currently out of work but most recent job was as the warehouse Manager with an international wholesale supplier for police and military equipment
Modeling Preferances:
1:24 / 1:25 scale model trucks although i occasionally do cars and 4x4's also.
Modeling dis-likes:
Ships, i move house too often and they always got broken
Favorite model you have built:
this is a tough one so i'll list a few: General automotive; i really enjoyed building the Nissan Skyline R34 GTR tune and also the Nissan Pathfinder as i highly detailed both of them. Trucks; i'd have to say the Revell Peterbilt 'Can-Do' wrecker. Other (probably my favorite all time build) is the one thats still on my work bench, my largest scratchbuild... a 1:25 scale Demag AC665 mobile crane.
And finally, Which model has given you the most grief: Definately the scratchbuilt crane as mentioned above, getting information and reference material out of the operators and manafturers was next to impossible, once the project got started i then had (and still do have) the headache of dealing with and waiting for aftermarket suppliers to send the parts i've paid for.

Welcome Ryan, make yourself at home, always good to see another automotive modeller join the forum, especially a truck modeller, there's not many of us about.

In Belgium, I was a member of IPMS Belgium and of the IPMS Brussels (by the way I remain a member of Brussels club since I have many friends there) I found this forum a good way to introduce myself as well as approaching peoples for the local IPMS UK branch where I m living now... and the others UK modelers! Name:Nicolas Billiard Age:31 (23/03//1976) Nationality:French Location:Rugby, Warwickshire Job/work:Test Engineer Modeling Preferances:Jet aircrafts, X-planes, 1/72, 1/48, but I like to try my skills on different topics... Modeling dis-likes:when there is some part missing in the box... when the smallest part of the kit flies away... Favorite model you have built:le last one.... (because I finish it) Which model has given you the most grief:the next one/s.... (because I m struggling to finish it/them)

Name: My name is Stellan Englund.
Age: Im still trying to convince myself I´m NOT having my 38 birthday soon...
Location: Stockholm, Sweden.
Job/work: Coordinator at a trade union.
Modeling Preferences: Most things other modellers reject (not really but mainstream Bf 109, Pz IV and king size Gato subs are not my bag). Cars, 2-wheelers, Warhammer, choppers, landing crafts etc. I love to scrach build my detailing and do not care if I build things as accurate or historically correct as others would have me to. Civilian or military stuff doesn´t matter. Building should be relaxation and joy, not grief and dispair.
Modeling dis-likes: Rivet counters who never are satisfied with anything that comes out on the market, always some reason to whine.
Favorite model you have built: I have a series going of Fiat 500s that celebrates the most courageous little car that was ever built. A Revell Harbour Tug Boat is also a strong caracter on my shelf.
And finally, Which model has given you the most grief: An Airfix Douglas Skyraider 1/72 some 10 years ago. I started on it but gave up. But that trip made me the builder I´m today, so I guess it was some sort of wake up call for me.

Looks like Ian got bored on Britmodeller? ... ... welcome Ian, and from Scouse land too ... which bank Ian, Liverpool or the posh end down stream? ... Keep a lookout for Ian Sadler, he's a refugee from the poor side of the River ... Birkenhead, found himself washed ashore near Nottingham. Welcome Stellan, you'll find we're reasonably friendly here. What's all this about worrying about your impending 38th birthday? ... some of us are beginning to worry about where we're going to collect our pension from?

Dear admin, I´m closer than ever to 40. Wich means also that I have to start worrying about that pension too. Ever tried the lotteries? An advice; do not even think you HAVE a fortune stacked in your cupboard. Your kits just cost a fortune to BUY... Yes, you seem like a friendly enough lot so I thought I´d have a go at this site. Might post some pix later on me works. Just spent a full day fiddling with my WH 40 K machine. Almost finished, phew! Gotta get it ready for the Swedish Nat´s on April 5-6. Why don´t you all join in?
