Hi everyone, another new member here, joined last week, after thinking about it for a LONG time!! Been modeling since I was a young boy of approx 7, when me and my dad built an Airfix Spitfire,.... what else ? and was hooked from then on, not one for entering competitions, just do it for my own satisfaction, although there is always room for improvement. Age 52 going on 10 Name Mick Rout Location Scunthorpe ( no jokes please ) Employnent Mechanical Engineer on a power station, on the steelworks Modeling Interests Used to be almost exclusively F1 in 1/20 and 1/12 with the odd jet thrown in. Now it's 1/48 WWII fighters with a couple of AFV's thrown in, oh and I have a 1/16 Tiger in the loft awaiting attention! Best thing about modeling :- The feeling of achievment when completing a project to ones satisfaction. especially if you have tried a new technique or product. and the pure escapism it gives. Worst thing about modeling :- Looking at a model and knowing you could have done better, not enought time, or money! Best Kit That would have to the tamiya 1/12 Ferrari 312T4 it came out great, ( for me! ). Worst Kit :- For me it has to a vac formed 1/72 Nimrod I started about 5 years ago, and have still to finish!

Welcome Tom. I notice that you have the same affliction as me, the schoolboy gene? ... ah well, who needs a cure?

Indeed, who needs a cure, I'm happy with the status quo. Although, SWMBO might have a different view!

It's about time I owned up I suppose, so here goes! Name: Peter James. Age: 56 First modelling experience: Age 5. A very small B47, built on my Grandmother's dining table, with a lot of newspaper underneath & around me! Interests: Luftwaffe, WWI & WWII armour, WWII Japanese aircraft. Favourite aircraft: Dornier 335. Favourite model: Anything with Tamiya on the box! It's a hobby, not a challenge! Post held: Hon. Sec. IPMS Salisbury. Married? Yes. To a wife who both encourages my hobby (providing I stick to tanks!) & who enjoys SMW, both for the dioramas & the ease of finding items on my Christmas list! Ambitions: To retire from my paid hobby (I photograph & fly in military aircraft!) & learn to be a good modeller. Other hobbies: Philately & walking with our two dogs. Discovering new wines & real ales.
