Hello All, I'm a naughty boy as I'm not a member of the IPMS, but like all things in life it is one of those things that I plan to get around to doing - hopefully this Christmas if I'm lucky. I used to have an account on here (thebusinessman IIRC), but haven't posted for a while, so figured I might as well start afresh. I'm a mod on the ATF and model anything, as long as it doesn't float or the scale doesn't exeed 1/100! Along the Military Aircraft/Cars/AFV's side of things I also do quite a bit of Railway modelling and am currently building a 12'x6' 00 Layout in my shed.
The main reason why I've joined up again was after a bit of a prod from southsix/plastic constructor over on Britmodeller after I posted pictures of my 'A Close Shave' build with the W&G Motorbike. I've enjoyed the stuff that the Beyond the Box SIG has put out over the last few SMW shows, so I figured I might have a crack at it once I've joined up. I think I'm already decided on what I might build - that's as sad as it gets!
Enuff Ramblings, Hello anyways! There seem to be plenty of familiar faces around the shop. Owen

Hi All First off I have to admit that I'm not a member of the IPMS...yet. My particular interests are for 1/35 modern Commonwealth AFVs (primarily South African) and also for RAF/SAAF subjects in 1/72 and 1/48.

I'm not a member of IPMS yet either, here is a bit about me,
name: Raiford
age: 43
status: married, to my beautiful wife Daisy
location: Worcester
employment: senior operating theatre assistant
modelling interests: planes, mainly in 1/72, also cavalry figures in any scale
best thing about modelling: the finished product
worst thing: deciding what will be my next project!
best kit: that would be the Esci 1/48 F-4D that I made way back when I was 16, bought it at IAT '81, up to then it was the best finish I had done, sadly I no longer have it.
worst kit: a vacform Supermarine Swift, my first attempt at vacform , terrible result!

... also cavalry figures in any scale ... We could do with a few more figure modellers on the forum, especially someone who may want to detail a build or three? ... Welcome to the forum.

Name: Nick Edwards
Age: I'm 44 and get accused of having a second childhood. I usually point out that I haven't finished with the first one yet.
Location: I live in darkest Wales near a small village called Pantymwyn, the nearest civilisation anyone has heard of is Chester about 15 miles away.
Job/work: I'm the IT manager for a 'well known shopping channel'
Modeling Preferences: I really do build most things ranging from a Jotika/Caldercraft HMS Victory to brushless jets. First love is aviation, I've got a Fisher Sea Fury on the go at the moment (amongst others)
Modeling dis-likes: The way it gets to be morning all of a sudden after an 'hour before bed'
Favorite model you have built: The last one usually
Which model has given you the most grief: I would have to say the victory just by the sheer amount of time it takes to build (3000 hours plus - not finished yet by the way)

Hello Guys and Happy New Year.
I have joined this as I have started to get back into modeling(plastic kits not underwear) I was bought the Airfix Severn class lifeboat for Christmas from my wife( got a thing about lifeboats). So if anyone has any good tips please email me...I live in Worcester(I know not near the sea so why lifeboats). I also love photography and photographing hot air balloons in particular along with old lifeboat stations. Would love to build a remote control lifeboat in the future. I also visit lots of airshows around the UK.
I work for a small software company providing software for the Visually Impaired (magnify the screen and read out text etc.)
Look forward to meeting up with some of you at model shows etc.
Best wishes
Dave
